Drug agents seize 2.5 pounds of bath salts
WATERVILLE (AP) — Maine drug agents say a 26-year-old man faces drug trafficking charges in connection with the seizure of 2.5 pounds of the synthetic mind-altering drug known as “bath salts.”
Travis Griffin of Thomaston was charged Tuesday after agents found a pound of bath salts in a vehicle that had been impounded by Waterville police on Nov. 19. Griffin was a passenger in the vehicle when police found 4 ounces of the drug following a traffic stop. Drug agents also found another 1.5 pounds of bath salts in a vacant house in Thomaston owned by Griffin’s family. Police say the drugs had a street value of $170,000.
