THEY JUST MIGHT NEED YOUR HELP TO TELL IT.

“WoRD was a wonderful experience for me that taught me so much about teamwork, creativity and journalism. Whether we were brainstorming stories, taking pictures or out in the field, it was always a lot of fun, and a great opportunity for interested students.”
— WILL CONNELLY, FREEPORT HIGH SCHOOL, CLASS OF 2007 “WoRD was a wonderful experience for me that taught me so much about teamwork, creativity and journalism. Whether we were brainstorming stories, taking pictures or out in the field, it was always a lot of fun, and a great opportunity for interested students.” — WILL CONNELLY, FREEPORT HIGH SCHOOL, CLASS OF 2007 Since 1999, The Times Record has published studentwritten news reports, reviews, photographs and other general interest pieces generated by Mid-coast teens. This fall, we again seek local high school and middle school students interested in writing about issues important to young people. If this opportunity interests you, but you’re not sure that you are a strong enough writer, don’t worry. Learning is part of the program.

Over the years, many teens have joined WoRD with no actual journalism experience, but have found that the experience helped them become better writers at school and strengthened their communications skills.

If WoRD interests you, please contact Daryl Madore at dmadore@timesrecord.com or 504-8247 for more details.
