Christine Belle Carlson
WILSON, WY — Christine Belle (Richards) Carlson, age 52, of North Second Street died unexpectedly with her loving family by her side on March 27, 2012 after a brief illness at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born in Brunswick at Parkview Hospital on March 19th, 1960, the daughter of Elmer and Frances Richards and identical twin sister, Cynthia. She had a happy childhood growing up in Topsham, Maine. She attended St. John's Catholic School (K-8 grades) and was a 1978 graduate of Mt. Ararat School where she was a member of the National Honor Society, track team and cheerleading squad.
Christine received her bachelor's degree in communications from the University of Maine in 1982. On March 2, 2002, she married Cory Carlson at St. John's Church and celebrated the joyous occasion with friends and family with a lobster feast held at Cook's Lobster House on Bailey's Island, Maine. At forty-three years old Christine gave birth to a beautiful daughter, Catrina Belle Carlson, on April 12, 2004.
Christine worked for North American Pro Ski Tour, United Publications, Vail Jazz Foundation, and as an independent consultant before becoming a mother. She was devoted to her daughter and was involved in her daughter's school activities volunteering in the classroom and chaperoning field trips. She enjoyed travel and had the opportunity to live in several resort communities including Vail Colorado, Lake Tahoe Nevada, and Jackson Hole Wyoming. She was a Master Gardener and was active outdoors skiing, snowshoeing, hiking and sailing off the Maine coast. She loved her family, kitties and being with good friends.
Surviving are her husband, Cory, and daughter, Catrina of Jackson Hole Wyoming as well as her mother, Frances Richards, of Topsham and sister, Cynthia Richards, of Durham.
Family and friends are invited to services at Stetson's Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick, which include visiting hours on Friday, April 6th from 10-11AM, followed by a service at 11AM with the Rev. Gordon Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at Riverside Cemetery, Brunswick.
