Edward ‘Bud’ Thompson
He was born in Bath on March 15, 1929 to Edward K. and Edna Dunton Thompson.
Bud lived and worked in the Bath/West Bath area all his life. He was an excellent mechanic who put his skills to work for the Bath Bus Service, Dodge Chevrolet and the BIW. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, his cats and just “puttering” around the house.
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Barbara (Holderness) Thompson who died August 26, 2010 and a son Keith Thompson who died December 17, 2011.
He is survived by two daughters, Karen Allard and her husband, Roger of Cundy’s Harbor and Gail Dill and her husband, Gerry of Ellsworth; a brother, Perry Thompson of Virginia; he greatly enjoyed his six grandchildren, Roger, Jolene, Amy, Cathy, Amanda and Melissa, who knew him as “ Pompie” and had recently been introduced to the youngest of his 12 great grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hill House who lovingly cared for Bud and became his extended family.
A graveside service and time of remembrance will be held at a later date at the Orchard Hill Cemetery, West Bath. To share your thoughts and condolences with Bud’s family please visit www.desmondfuneralhomes.com
