BRUNSWICK — Mitt Romney emerged as the leader from the Brunswick Republican Town Committee’s biennial caucus Saturday, taking 50 percent of the vote.
According to a press release from Jonathan Crimmins, chairman of the Brunswick Republican Town Committee, the caucus at Curtis Memorial Library drew more than 100 participants, including representatives from presidential campaigns.
In the Brunswick caucus presidential straw poll, Rick Santorum ranked second with 26 percent, Ron Paul third with 22 percent, and Newt Gingrich with 1 percent, according to Crimmins’ release.
The local group also elected 30 representatives to attend the state party convention in May in Augusta.
