Santa to visit mansion on Saturday
BRUNSWICK — Santa Claus will be available to visit with children in the Victorian era parlor of the historic Skolfield-Whittier House, 161 Park Row, from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Admission to this event is free. Parents are invited to bring their cameras to this photo opportunity.
Refreshments will be served in the research library of the Pejepscot Historical Society adjacent to the Skolfield-Whittier House. The museum store will be open for holiday shopping.
The house was once the home of Alfred Skolfield, a successful 19th century sea captain, as well as his son-inlaw, Dr. Frank Whittier, a pioneer in forensic pathology. Alfred’s granddaughter, Dr. Alice Whittier, the last family member to inhabit the house, was Maine’s first female pediatrician.
This year’s exterior holiday decorations are provided by the Harpswell Garden Club.
