The Times Record

A 31-year-old High Street woman was charged Thursday with illegal possession of oxycodone, and state officials took her five children into custody.

Jenelle Merrill-Pyy, 31, of 932 High St., faces a Class C charge of unlawful possession of Schedule W drugs, according to Bath Police Detective David Beauregard.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, working with detectives from the Bath and Brunswick police departments and the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Office, executed a search warrant at Merrill-Pyy’s home at 12:22 p.m. Thursday and allegedly found her in possession of 1.5 oxycodone pills that she had been prescribed but was not using in the manner that the doctor had prescribed them, Beauregard said Monday.

Officials from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services took custody of Merrill-Pyy’s five children, Beauregard said.

The investigation continues, and Beauregard said more charges are expected.

Merrill-Pyy was taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. She is scheduled to appear in Sagadahoc Superior Court on March 13.
