Circle of strife?
The Theater Project’s Professional Ensemble’s production of “Circle Mirror Transformation” opens at 8 p.m. today at 14 School St.
Here’s how the Theater Project describes the play:
Set in a community center in smalltown Vermont, “Circle Mirror Transformation” begins on the first day of the acting class that free-spirited teacher Marty is running. Her small group of students vary in age and interest — there is Schultz, the lonely divorced guy; Theresa, a former New York actress who has just moved to town; antisocial teenager Lauren; and Marty’s own husband, James.
The play unfolds over the six weeks of the workshop, and as we watch, there are some relationships that bloom and others that wither. Through a series of silly acting exercises and games, the play shows us the unexpected discoveries these characters make about themselves and each other.”
The Theater Project will stage “ Circle Mirror Transformation” through Feb. 19, in conjunction with “Winter Cabaret” as part of a repertory production.
All tickets are pay-what-you-want with a suggested price of $18, and are available online or at 729-8584.
