GARAGE FIRE IN BRUNSWICK



BRUNSWICK FIREFIGHTERS quickly extinguished a garage fire before flames could spread to a nearby house on Saturday. According to Brunswick Fire Chief Ken Brillant the fire was reported shorty after 1 p.m. by a neighbor. Upon arrival at 22 Hawthorne St., Brunswick firefighters found heavy smoke pouring from the garage, but had extinguished the fire in about 10 minutes. While the cause of the fire is undetermined, he said, fire investigators believe it was accidental. Brillant said the garage belongs to Mary Jane Riley, who wasn’t home when the fire broke out. No injuries were reported.
