Christina Babnaw

Christina “Tina” (Grant) Babnaw, 44, of Durham died unexpectedly on March 12, 2016 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born on February 4th, 1972 at Portsmouth, VA to Larry and Winnifred (Welch) Grant.

Tina was a natural redhead whose quicksilver emotional personality kept life interesting in all the best ways. She will be best remembered by those that knew her for her contagious laughter, her smile which could light up a room, and her willingness to be a friend to whoever needed one whenever and wherever she could.

On June 12, 2010 Tina’s dream came true by marrying the love of her life, Jason Babnaw. She was the happiest she had been as they made their life together.

Tina worked at Big Apple, at call centers, and in the banking field in various positions, but her most recent and favorite job that she loved was at Hairs Too You Salon where she was a manicurist/pedicurist. She was going to school for reflexology.

She loved laughter and good jokes, music of all kinds, quiet movie nights, cars, trucks, tinkering around doing little things and cuddling with her pets.

Tina was predeceased by her mother Winnie, a brother, and her grandparents.

She is survived by her husband Jason, of Durham; her son Joshua White of Durham; her father Larry Grant of Cousins Island; two brothers, Doug Grant of Yarmouth and Mathew Grant of New Gloucester; a step-brother Greg Merrill; a step-sister Christina Vachon; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Also, Tina’s mother-in-law Charlene Babnaw, and sister in-law Nicole Bouchard who welcomed her into their family. Tina loved them dearly!

A celebration of Tina’s life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to any animal shelter in memory of Tina.
